Drive Paseo Delicias on a Wednesday afternoon and the Village looks the way it always has. Eucalyptus canopy over the four-way stop, whitewashed adobe, the slow pace that has defined the Covenant for generations. Nothing on the surface suggests that three of the anchors of daily life inside Rancho Santa Fe are in motion at the same time.
They are, though. The Ranch Clubhouse restaurant is closed for renovation. A new tenant has taken over the space Delicias held for a quarter century. A French brasserie brand from Bankers Hill is fitting out a lounge at Del Rayo Village. What used to be a single Sunday routine, breakfast at the Clubhouse, a walk through the market, lunch back at the golf club, has redistributed itself across a handful of addresses within a five-minute drive of one another. If you have lived here a while, you have probably already felt this. This is a map of where it is going.
The Clubhouse gap, and what it is doing to the week
The Ranch Clubhouse restaurant at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club has been the social anchor of the Village for longer than most current homeowners have owned their homes. With the dining room closed for renovation, Association members are still using the Snack Bar, at least until that phase of work begins. What has shifted is the standing Sunday reservation. The habit that used to end at the Clubhouse now has to end somewhere else, and residents are quietly sorting out where.
The good news for anyone who values ritual is that the rest of the traditional Sunday is intact. The Max Behr course, which opened in 1929, is still one of the country's more walkable classic layouts. The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe's Mila Moursi Spa was recognized in 2026 by Women's Health as a rejuvenating retreat of the year. The pieces of the day that surround the meal are unchanged. It is the meal itself that has moved.
Paseo, in the space Delicias held for twenty-five years
The most consequential change is inside the Village. The Millar family, longtime owners of the property, brought in the Grand Restaurant Group to take over the 5,800-square-foot space Delicias occupied for a quarter century. The restaurant is called Paseo RSF, and the group's founder recruited Patrick Ponsaty, one of only sixty-four chefs in the United States with the Master Chef of France designation, to lead the culinary program.
Reviews since opening have been mixed in the way early reviews of ambitious restaurants often are. OpenTable diners have praised the lamb chops, the sushi program, and the Caesar; a handful have flagged uneven service and cocktail menu still finding its footing. Both readings are probably true at once. What matters for a resident deciding where to place a Sunday reservation is that the Village now has a serious kitchen back in the address where one used to be, with hundreds of reviews already logged and a menu that reads more contemporary than the old Delicias template.
Four Village anchors now sit within a comfortable walk of each other:
- Paseo RSF, in the former Delicias space on Paseo Delicias
- The Rancho Santa Fe Farmers Market, 16079 San Dieguito Road, every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, with its Mila Moursi Spa
- Del Rayo Village, a short drive south, where the next opening is happening
That grouping is the practical answer to the Clubhouse question. It is not a replacement. It is a redistribution.
Parc Lounge at Del Rayo Village
The next piece is a few minutes south. Parc Bistro, the French restaurant across from Balboa Park in Bankers Hill, is opening its second location at 16081 San Dieguito Road, Suite G1A, in Del Rayo Village, replacing Dolce. Owner Garo Minassian confirmed the expansion to What Now San Diego, targeting a spring 2026 debut, and the concept is likely to be called Parc Lounge. The flagship Bankers Hill room, which opened in 2016 under Executive Chef Benjamin Navarro, runs classic French: steak frites, escargots, beef bourguignon, a daily seafood board.
For Covenant residents, the interesting detail is not the brand. It is the address. Del Rayo Village has been an errand center for decades, the kind of shopping plaza where you renew a prescription and pick up a bottle of wine. A restaurant of this style opening there changes what the plaza is for. Brunch, lunch, happy hour, dinner, and private events up to 150 people, all inside a plaza most residents currently pass through in under fifteen minutes. Minassian started his career in Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe in the late 1980s at Scalini's, so the expansion is a return more than an experiment.
The Sunday morning that still works
The Rancho Santa Fe Farmers Market runs every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 16079 San Dieguito Road. It has kept its cadence through everything the last few years have thrown at the Village, and the vendor lineup rotates enough to reward showing up more than once a month. Emilio and Judy Godoy of Emilio's Paella have been serving from the market for more than twelve years. Culinary Elite, the Philly cheesesteak booth, joined in October 2017. Momoda Pets brings in the dehydrated natural chews. Any given Sunday there is a rotating Vendor of the Week, and the market publishes it on the official market site the week of.
The other stop worth writing into the routine is the Helen Woodward Animal Center at 6461 El Apajo Road. Kennels are open seven days a week, 12 to 6 Monday through Thursday and 10 to 6 Friday through Sunday. This is not a tourist recommendation. It is a genuinely useful part of a Sunday if you have kids in the house, if you are between dogs, or if you have twenty minutes between the market and lunch and want to spend them somewhere other than a phone screen.
October's other anchor: the RSF Open
If the Ranch Clubhouse gap has shifted the food side of the week, the tennis side of the calendar is doing its own quiet work. The Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club is hosting the Rancho Santa Fe Open in October, a USTA Pro Circuit women's event at the $60,000 level, for its fifth consecutive year. Earlier in the summer, the club ran a $15,000 SoCal Pro Series stop from July 6 through July 12, with draws for both men and women.
A resident who has never wandered over to watch a qualifying round should. Former Rancho Santa Fe residents on the pro side include Taylor Fritz and Coco Vandeweghe. Teaching pro Allison Bradshaw works alongside Director of Tennis Derek Miller. The setting on a warm morning is one of the more pleasant places to spend two hours in North County, and the tennis itself is genuinely competitive at a level most people never see live. Two weekday hours in October, no ticket friction, walkable from most of the Covenant.
A quiet announcement worth marking
There is one more thing on the calendar that most residents have not seen yet. Belmont Village Senior Living, developed in partnership with Greystar, is opening late 2026 at 16202 Sunny Summit Drive inside the gated Lakes of Rancho Santa Fe community. For long-time Covenant homeowners thinking about what "next" looks like without leaving the area they raised a family in, this is the first new senior-living option of its scale on the north side of the community in years. It is worth noting now, before the marketing cycle picks up in the fall.
Add it up and the picture becomes less about a Clubhouse being closed and more about a Village whose weekly rhythm is rearranging itself into a tighter grid along San Dieguito Road and Paseo Delicias. Paseo RSF for the anchor meal. Del Rayo Village for a brasserie that did not exist here a year ago. The farmers market and Helen Woodward for the morning half of Sunday. The Tennis Club for one weekend in October. The Inn and the golf course for what they have always been. It is the same neighborhood. The map has just moved a few blocks.
